Equip

Flourish and Thrive has a unique approach to healing. We believe in offering multiple resources to meet you where you are at and equip you in your faith and healing journey.  We offer workshops, retreats, conferences, worship/prayer nights and partnerships with other organizations that are equipped to facilitate deeper and more acute healing to meet the unique needs of each person. We also believe God's Word when it says that He sings over you (Zeph 3:17) and that He is enthroned on the praises of His people (Ps 22:3). Because of this, we have sewn music as an intergral part of our organization and how we lead to healing, equipping and restoration with Jesus! 

Heal

At Flourish and Thrive, we offer support tailored towards healing emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually. We believe in God's promises for His children and that He has good plans for each of us. In this world, we can't escape being hurt or experiencing struggles and we know that we all can get stuck in the pain and weary from our trials.  We want to help you heal holistically-body-mind-spirit.  Our ministry is dedicated to helping you flourish and thrive in God's promises, providing guidance and encouragement every step of the way.

Flourish and Thrive's approach to ministry is holistic, addressing spiritual, emotional, and practical needs. We empower individuals to grow in all aspects of their lives, enabling them to fully embrace and live out their God-given potential.

   Our  workshops are designed to equip individuals in healing and finding freedom to follow God's plans for their lives. With each workshop, we provide a safe space for individuals to explore their faith, overcome challenges, and find peace in their spiritual journey. Our trained professionals offer compassionate support and practical advice, helping you to navigate life's complexities with a heart aligned to God's purpose. Whether you are dealing with personal struggles, seeking clarity, or desiring a deeper connection with God, our workshops are here to accompany you on your path to flourishing and thriving.

    Our worship and prayer nights provide a space to sit in God's presence and receive prayer in an environment that is safe and unrushed. 

 

Retreats 

Flourish and Thrive offers retreats specifically designed for participants to get away from the busyness of life and say yes to Jesus' invitation to rest with Him. Jesus modeled rest well for us when He was walking this earth and how important it is for us to go away and spend time with the Father. Each retreat will be uniquely designed with intentional time to rest, exercises, worship and spiritual disciplines all with the purpose of drawing closer to Jesus.

REGISTRATION OPEN

We are offering a Who am I? Finding Our God Given Identity Workshop for men and women starting in January and ending in March. We will cover 5 areas and each workshop will cover one area at a time. These workshops can be purchased a la carte or as a package.  We realize that in life we can be wounded in our relationships. Whether it's a parental, husband, friend or a church wound, these impact our relationship with God and ultimately our relationship with ourselves and identity. We offer a safe place to learn about how these traumatic injuries affect us, steps towards healing, and invitation to sit with Jesus in a sacred space. We have some incredible leaders in each topic planned to come and walk us through the path towards healing! Each workshop will be separated for women and men with our  last workshop being a co-ed event! For the men, breakfast is provided and for the women we will provide lunch.

We chose this song as our foundational song for Flourish and Thrive because it speaks of the true nature of God. We may find ourselves in barren and desolate places He is faithful to revive, restore and heal us so that we may flourish and thrive. We have joy, hope and peace because of His great love and plans He has for each of us. His promises are true and He is always faithful! Melissa Holstrom 

Founder, President & Worship Pastor

Melissa Holstrom is a passionate worship pastor whose heart beats to lead people into the presence of Jesus. As the founder and president of Flourish and Thrive, she not only oversees the vision of the ministry but also leads worship at every event—creating space for others to encounter the Lord deeply and personally through music and praise.

Melissa has a deep love for Jesus and a strong desire to see lives transformed through worship and the Word. She is a wife to her best friend, momma to two amazing adult daughters and an incredible teenage son, and a devoted follower of Christ. Whether she’s singing, playing guitar, or encouraging others, her life is marked by a desire to glorify God in all she does.

Her ministry journey includes years of faithful service: founding and leading a 501(c)(3) homeschool co-op, leading worship at her local church, planting a church, and being ordained in 2019. These experiences have shaped her into the worship leader and minister she is today.

Flourish and Thrive is the fulfillment of a God-sized dream, and Melissa is honored to live it out. Through heartfelt worship and Spirit-led leadership, she is committed to walking out the mission God has entrusted to her—calling others into freedom, fullness, and flourishing in His presence.

Anthony Giordono

Hi I’m Coach Anthony. I’m a Health & Life Coach with almost 20 years of experience in fitness, nutrition, performance mindset, and addiction counseling. I work with men to help them identify their God given purpose and pursuing that identity daily through the building of their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health

Amy Abbott 

LGC/LMT/CMT- Amy is passionate about working with people as they work on themselves whether it’s through the modality of massage therapy or life coaching. She is a firm believer that by exploring a person’s approach to life and dreams from a holistic direction, they can achieve deep, transformative change that is sustainable. By addressing the mind, spirit AND body, clients can receive powerful and beautiful insight to propel them forward in God’s great plan for their lives! She has been a licensed and certified Massage Therapist for over 21yrs and has a deep appreciation and knowledge about how the body processes stress and pain. She brings this awareness into the coaching field, merging body work with soul care. Amy launched her first business, In Good Hands Therapeutic Massage in 2004 after earning her Associates Degree from Heritage College in Kansas City, MO and her NCBMT. She has even partnered with GCLA in Honduras, several times since 2018 by taking massage therapy to communities in great need of medical care. In the last 21yrs, she has worked on hundreds of clients and has most enjoyed helping them with their physical pain while hearing their amazing life stories! This prompted her move to study with Christian Coaching School to pursue a certification in Professional Coaching with LifeForming Leadership Coaching. She launched Inspire Somatic Life Coaching LLC upon graduation in 2021 which is still thriving today! Amy also teaches Creative Wellness art classes for retreats in Kansas and Missouri and currently resides in Lees Summit, MO with her two amazing daughters.

Josh Simcosky 

On August 15, 2020 Josh surrendered his life to Christ After 20 years of drug addiction and alcoholism.  Since that day, Josh has immersed himself in the process of life recovery. He currently leads a recovery group called Free Indeed, studies personality disorders, develops and teaches boundaries, serves at his church on the worship team, and is training as a Biblical addiction and mental health coach. Josh believes that recovery is not an event, but a lifelong process with many events along the way that everyone can benefit from because addiction is not a moral failure of will, or an ethical lapse, but a response to trauma which everyone experiences in some way. One of the key components of Josh’s healing process has been developing healthy Biblical boundaries. Since learning how to protect his heart while working on his weak spots, Josh has been driven to share this insight with others at Free Indeed meetings and through one-on-one sponsorship/coaching. In his free time Josh likes to golf, play guitar, tell dad jokes to his two daughters, and sear steaks in his cast-iron pan.
